1 Next step, guacamole: Feed avocado trees in March and again in June. Apply just under 5 cups of 16-16-16 plant food, or 10 cups of 10-10-10 fertilizer, around the drip zone of each mature tree each time you feed. And any time you apply plant food, be sure to thoroughly water it in right away.
